The Vél' d'Hiv' Roundup

The largest roundup of the Occupation took place in Paris on July 16 and 17, 1942. 13,000 Jewish men, women and children were arrested and interned before being deported to Auschwitz. The families were initially held in the Velodrome d'Hiver or "Vél' d'Hiv.'"
